Blacktown is located in the heart of Greater Sydney, lying half way between Sydney CBD and the Blue Mountains. Home to more than 271,000 people, Blacktown is the most populous city in NSW, has the largest urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in NSW, and includes residents from across 184 countries.

Blacktown City Council have compiled the LINCS (Local Information Network for Community Services) database which is an amalgamation of the community information directories of over 30 organisations. All together, LINCS provides access to about 20,000 community information organisations and resources. You can search LINCS online at www.datadiction.com.au/bin/dd.dll/lincs?xps&MBR=BLK. Community Development and Support Expenditure (CDSE) Scheme
Local non-for-profit organisations have the opportunity to apply for funding through the Blacktown City Community Development Support Expenditure (CDSE) scheme. The CDSE scheme requires clubs earning in excess of $1 million in gaming machine profit to invest a percentage of their profits back into the community.
